The Meissen Porcelain Foundation is hosting the 1. MEISSEN Symposium, part of a regular series of symposia aimed at facilitating exchanges on ceramic history right at the birthplace of European porcelain.
Today, the parlor maid will guide you through the demonstration workshop and the museum and explain during a tasting which role hot chocolate plays in the history of the manufactory. A noble menu on Meissen porcelain in three courses rounds off the event in the Meissen restaurant.

Dragons have fascinated the artisans for three centuries. The red court dragons on the elector's porcelain are inspired by East Asian designs. As allegorical figures, dragons represent the element of fire. During the reform movement around 1900, they contrasted with delicate nude figures. The bold Ming dragon is one of Meissen's most popular designs.
