Dragons have fascinated the artisans for three centuries. The red court dragons on the elector's porcelain are inspired by East Asian designs. As allegorical figures, dragons represent the element of fire. During the reform movement around 1900, they contrasted with delicate nude figures. The bold Ming dragon is one of Meissen's most popular designs.
